Components of an Asset's Metadata

The Metadata of an asset enables data discovery on the Acentrik Data Marketplace. It summarizes the content and structure of the data asset to help Data Consumers assess the relevance for their needs.

Each asset on the marketplace provides essential information through its metadata, helping consumers evaluate whether the asset suits their requirements.

Top-Left Section

  • Asset Type
Refers to the industry-specific classification of the data asset.

  • Access Type
Indicates the method of access for the asset. This can describe whether the asset is available for download or requires a compute job for access.

  • Valid For
This refers to the duration for which the Data Consumer can access the data asset after purchase. Depending on the asset, this validity can range from hours to months, and during this period, consumers do not need to repurchase access.

  • Published
Describes the date when the asset was published on the Acentrik Data Marketplace.

  • Data Type and Size
This provides information about the type of data (e.g., .csv, .txt etc.) and the size of the dataset.

  • Runtime Environment (for Algorithm only)
For algorithm assets, this refers to the specific runtime environment needed for execution, such as Docker or any other specified environment that ensures compatibility.

  • Ordered/Computed
Indicates the number of times the dataset has been ordered or a compute job has been executed using the asset.

Center-Left Section

  • Overview
Provides a brief summary of the data asset, providing a high-level understanding of the asset’s content.

  • Description
Offers more detailed information about the asset, including specific attributes, the nature of the data, and any other important characteristics that might influence its use.

Bottom-Left Section

  • Custom Docker Details (for Algorithm)
All information related to the docker hub image used for the algorithm including: Registry path, Image entry point, Image digest, and Reference URL.

  • DID
A unique identifier that helps in the discovery of the data asset within the Acentrik ecosystem.

  • Created On
Refers to the date when the asset was listed on the Acentrik Data Marketplace.

  • End User License Agreement (Optional)
Specifies the legal terms governing the usage of the data asset.

Top-Right Section

  • Experimental/Production
Data assets with an 'E' symbol indicates that the asset is experimental, whereas data assets without an 'E' symbol indicates that the asset is for production usage.

  • Dataset Online/Offline/Loading
Refers to whether the asset's data source is connected to the marketplace. The following indicators show the asset availability status:

    • Online (green): The dataset is available and ready for access.
    • Offline (red): The dataset is currently unavailable.
    • Loading (orange): The dataset status is still being retrieved.
  • Price
The cost associated with accessing the data asset.

Bottom-Right Section

  • Data Provider
Refers to the group, organization or entity offering the data asset.

  • Tags (Optional)
These are keywords or phrases that describe the asset’s content and context. Tags are used to facilitate the discovery of the asset through search functions.

  • Sample File (Optional)
A downloadable sample of the dataset that allows Data Consumers to preview the data before purchasing.

  • Sample Image (Optional)
An image preview of the dataset, if applicable, to give a visual representation of the asset’s content.
